Israel’s History and Future Told through the Knesset Menorah Reliefs

The Knesset Menorah is a fourteen-foot-high bronze sculpture standing at the edge of Gan Havradim (The Rose Garden) opposite the Knesset in Israel. It was designed by Benno Elkan (1877–1960), a Jewish sculptor who escaped from his native Germany to Britain. Adorning the branches of the Knesset Menorah are twenty-nine individual reliefs—two-and-a-half-dimensional miniature sculptures depicting twenty-nine facets of Jewish thought and history. From the patriarch Abraham to the foundation of the modern State of Israel, each relief illustrates the struggles and aspirations of the Jewish people and concepts from the Hebrew Bible.

The Knesset Menorah is a tapestry of Jewish history, and Boaz Michael captures this iconic work of art in exquisite photographic detail. A short description, with biblical quotes, analyzes each relief image and creates a beautiful, pictorial history book for everybody to learn from, enjoy and share with friends.

Bring home this beautiful 78-page, full-color coffee table book and discover Israel’s history and prophetic vision as told in The Knesset Menorah.
